Range: Circumtropical & Subtropical.

Natural Environment: Coastal and estuarine areas of the tropics and subtropics.

Aquarium Suitability: The red mangrove is able to take up seawater through its roots, but excrete excess salt at the root-substratum interface. Of the three mangrove species, this is the only species suitable for home aquariums.
