Range: Central Pacific Ocean: Hawaiian Islands.

Size: 8 inches - 20 cm

Natural Environment: Inhabits deep rocky reefs and is usually found at depths between 150 – 500 feet (45 – 150 m) where it feeds mainly on smaller fishes and crustaceans.

General Husbandry: Has pinkish body with a pale yellowish stripe from the rear of the eye rearwards to the gill plate. Not collected for the trade.
