Range: Eastern Atlantic Ocean, Indian Ocean, and Central and Western Pacific Ocean.

Natural Environment: An intertidal/tidepool/reef flats common species that forms dark green spongy masses and attaches to coral rubble and other forms of available substrate.

Aquarium Suitability: An arrangement of dark green fingers, similar to C. edule, but more like rolling bumps than finger-like projects and found in patches about 12 inches (30 cm) wide and about 2 inches (2.5 cm) thick.

Somewhat nice looking yet would only be suitable for nutrient-rich well-lighted aquariums. Nevertheless, not recommended for home aquariums, which are basically low nutrient environments, and besides, is easily dislodged, breaking into smaller pieces and disintegrating.
