Range: Indo-West Pacific Ocean: Red Sea to Indonesia, north to Southern Japan, and south the Marshall Islands.

Size: 8 inches (20 cm)

Natural Environment: Inhabits protected lagoons and reefs rich coral rubble and algae and usually found at depths between 3 – 250 feet (1 – 75 m) where it feeds on small fishes and crustaceans/benthic invertebrates.

General Husbandry: Not collected for the trade.
