Range: Indo-West Pacific Ocean: Moluccas to Solomon Islands, north to Southern Japan, and south to Rowley Shoals.

Size: 10 inches (24 cm)

Natural Environment: Inhabits protected lagoons and reefs rich in coral growth and usually found at depths between 15 – 100 feet (5 – 30 m) where it feeds on small fishes and crustaceans/benthic invertebrates.

General Husbandry: Not purposely collected for the trade.
