Common Name: Yellow Tang

Range: Widespread in the Indo-Pacific to Central Pacific Ocean (Hawaii)

Size: 8 inches - 20 cm

Natural Environment: Inhabits lagoons and along outer reef with dense coral growths where they live singly, in pairs or small, loose groups

General Husbandry: Has a temperature range of 72 - 83°F (22 - 28°C) and its natural diet consists mainly of algae. Requires a varied vegetable diet, including fresh macroalgae, Spirulina, dried seaweed, and enriched vegetable flakes, with two or three feedings per day. Those coming from Hawaii are not cyanide collected.

Aquarium Suitability: Large fish-only or reef aquariums
