Range: Indo-West Pacific Ocean: Australia, and possibly Japan and the South China Sea.

Size: 10.4 feet (317 cm)

Natural Environment: Inhabits rocky reefs, caves, and under overhangs and usually found at depths between 3 to 300 feet (1 - 90 m) where it feeds on small fishes, shrimp, worms, crabs urchins, and other crustaceans.

FYI: Public aquarium species.
