Range: Western Atlantic Ocean: Florida, Bahamas, eastern Gulf of Mexico to Central America.

Size: 8 inches (20 cm)

Natural Environment: Inhabits seagrass beds and usually found at depths between 3 – 30 feet (1– 10 m) where it feeds mainly on algae.

General Husbandry: Colors vary between sexes and its stage of growth (phase). Not normally collected for the trade.
