Range: Indo-West Pacific Ocean: East Africa south to Natal South Africa, Madagascar, Seychelles, Mauritius and Maldives through the Eastern Indian Ocean.

Size: 10 inches (25 cm)

Natural Environment: Inhabits lagoons and seaward reef flats rich in coral growth and usually found at depths between 6 – 85 feet (2 – 25 m) where it feeds mainly on algae.

General Husbandry: Colors vary between sexes and its stage of growth (phase). Not collected for the trade.
