Range: Indo-West Pacific Ocean: Christmas Island to Southern Japan and south to western Australia and Fiji.

Size: 12 inches (30 cm)

Natural Environment: Inhabits outer reef slopes and seaward reefs and usually found at depths between 3 – 100 feet (1 – 30 m) where it feeds mainly on algae.

General Husbandry: Colors vary between sexes and its stage of growth (phase). Not collected for the trade.
