Range: Western Indian Ocean: Kenya to South Africa.

Size: 12 inches (30 cm)

Natural Environment: Inhabits protected silty lagoons and reefs and usually found at depths between 3 – 50 feet (1 – 15 m) where it feeds on algae covered shellfishes, encrusting algae and live stony corals.

General Husbandry: Has an overall greyish white body with several wide black vertical bands. Not collected for the trade.
