Range: Indo-West Pacific Ocean: Gulf of Oman to Philippines and Taiwan.

Size: 5 inches (12 cm)

Natural Environment: Inhabits muddy areas in estuaries and can be found at depths between 6 to 300 feet (2 – 90 m) where it feeds on small fishes and crustaceans.

General Husbandry: Has mottled brown and reddish body and considered to be one of the more primitive forms in this family. Not purposely collected for the trade.
