Nisus Hawkfish

Range: Western Central Pacific Ocean: Polynesia and Cook Islands.

Size: 3 inches (8 cm)

Natural Environment: Inhabits exposed reef fronts and outer reef slopes and is usually found at depths between 3 – 50 feet (1 – 15 m) where it feeds on small fishes and crustaceans.

General Husbandry: Has a pale tannish body with a horizontal central aft body white band that has its upper and lower areas widely edged in black, and a yellow edged blue mark just aft of the eyes. Not yet purposely collected for the trade, probably due to its small isolated collection areas.
