Range: Indo-West Pacific Ocean: India, then east to Sagami Bay in Japan and south to China.

Size: 5 inches (12 cm)

Natural Environment: Inhabits rocky cliff areas in local reefs and is usually found at depths between 15 – 65 feet (5 – 20 m) where it feeds on small fishes, worms, and crustaceans.

General Husbandry: Has mottled brownish or yellowish body depending upon the areas in which its found. Not collected for the trade.
