Range: Indo-West Pacific Ocean: Taiwan and Hawaiian Islands.

Size: 2 inches (5 cm)

Natural Environment: Inhabits bottom areas on rocky reefs and can be found singly at depths between 300 to 500 feet (90 – 150 m), where it feeds on small fishes and crustaceans.

General Husbandry: Has a whitish body with reddish bands. Not purposely collected for the trade.

FYI: A hawkfish-like species dwelling on substrates waiting for a meal to come close enough to be captured and eaten.
