Range: Indo-West Pacific Ocean: Red Sea to Papua New Guinea and north to Japan.

Size: 28 inches (70 cm)

Natural Environment: Inhabits deep rocky reefs and found at depths between 65 – 1000 feet (20 – 300 m) where it feeds on small fishes and crustaceans.

General Husbandry: Has a pale tan body with oblique dark brown bands. Not collected for the trade.
