Range: Indo-West Pacific Ocean: Red Sea and East Africa to the Central Pacific Ocean.

Size: 35 inches (87 cm)

Natural Environment: Inhabits deep waters on slopes of islands, sea mounts or continental shelves and usually found at depths between 200 – 1000 feet (60 – 300 m) where it feeds on small fishes and crustaceans.

General Husbandry: Has a mottled tannish body with dark tan uneven streaks. Not purposely collected for the trade.
