Range: Western Indian Ocean: Northern end of the Red Sea to the Persian Gulf and coast of Pakistan.

Size: 14 inches (35 cm)

Natural Environment: Inhabits shallow protected reefs and is found at depths between 3 – 150 feet (1 – 45 m) where it feeds on small fishes and crustaceans.

General Husbandry: Adults are brown to reddish, depending upon the depth of the areas where they reside. Not collected for the trade.
