Range: Western Indian Ocean: Red Sea to Mozambique and east to Madagascar, Seychelles, and Reunion.

Size: 3 inches (7 cm)

Natural Environment: Inhabits lagoon sandy bottoms and is found in the burrow of Alpheus spp. shrimp and usually seen at depths between 3 - 100 feet (1 - 30 m) where it feeds on zooplankton and small crustaceans.

General Husbandry: Not normally collected for the trade.
