Range: Western Indian Ocean: Red Sea, Gulf of Oman, and Persian Gulf.

Size: 3 inches (9 cm)

Natural Environment: Inhabits sandy and rubble areas in protected lagoons and usually found at depths between 6 –50 feet (2 – 15 m) where it feeds on benthic invertebrates and zooplankton.

General Husbandry: Not normally collected for the trade.
