Range: Indo-West Pacific Ocean: Christmas Island in the eastern Indian Ocean to Samoa, north to Southern Japan, and south to the Great Barrier Reef.

Size: 3 inches (8 cm)

Natural Environment: Inhabits course volcanic sand in outer lagoons and seaward reefs and usually found at depths between 15 – 65 feet (5 – 20 m) where it feeds on benthic invertebrates and zooplankton.

General Husbandry: Not normally collected for the trade.
