Range: Indo-Pacific Ocean: Reunion to Hawaii, Marquesan and Society Islands, north to Southern Japan, and south to Tonga.

Size: 19 inches (48 cm)

Natural Environment: Inhabits coastal sandy areas at depths between 75 - 350 feet (23 – 105 m), and feeds on shrimp, crabs, worms, snails, bivalves, and small fishes.

General Husbandry: Has an reddish body. Not purposely collected for the hobby, in fact, rarely seen in the wild.

FYI: Unsuitable for hobbyist aquariums.
